COMMUNITY GARDENERS OF MARICOPA COUNTY
We are a collaborative group of community gardeners focused on strengthening and creating community spaces for growing healthy, organic, local and affordable food.
Our Mission: The mission of the Community Gardeners of Maricopa County is to build and support community gardens through education, empowerment and engagement.
Our Vision: We envision a diverse, inclusive and accessible network of gardeners that will connect people with nature, food systems, and one another.
Value Statements:
Unity. We will encourage an open exchange of ideas, frequent and honest communication, cooperation and teamwork.
Passion. We will work to develop and sustain enthusiasm for community gardens and honor the passion, commitment and participation of all community gardens.
Joy. We will infuse fun, a sense of humor, and the power of creativity in all our work.
Respect. Operation of our organization will reflect the values of diversity and respect for others and use the inclusion of a variety of different types of gardens operated by different groups to empower those who are engaged in the production of food for the betterment of their community.
Love. Through our actions we will demonstrate the love that we feel for our gardens, our fellow gardeners, and our communities.
Stewardship. We will embrace and incorporate best practices and educate members so that every garden in Maricopa County is resilient and sustainable and provides environmental, economic and social benefits to their communities.
